Government

The last Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan would be witnessing a historical transition from traditional monarchy to a democratic constitutional monarchy. The first nation wide election is due to be held in 2008 coinciding with the celebrations of 100 years of monarchy and the coronation of the fifth king.

Economy

Agriculture is still the main source of livelihood. Besides farming, other sectors like tourism, forestry, hydro-electricity, small scale industries and textiles contribute to the growing economy of this tiny nation.
