MONGAR (5575 ft) The small town of Mongar in eastern Bhutan is located on a hill top. The Thrumsingla Wildlife Sanctuary is located on the way to Mongar. This protected area is pleasant for animal and bird watching.
The Mongar dzong was built in 1930 and now it is the administrative and religious center. Taking a walk along the villages would provide an insight of a typical Bhutanese life.
